Kirklees Guitar School Video Lesson

Learning Guitar started in my late teens and continues to this day. In the 1970s, like many others, my learning commenced with Bert Weedon’s infamous paperback ‘Play in a Day’.

Later learning alone gave way to a ten week ‘Pay as You Play’ course offered by a local music store.  A weekly group lesson on my nylon string, Spanish style acoustic guitar led to owning the guitar. My friend Paul and I continued with the same tutor for a few months with ad-hoc private lessons.

In 2018 I enrolled with the adult guitar class at Kirklees Musica Rock School to develop lead guitar playing a little. To be honest with mixed success.

My guitar playing development is now mainly via Justin Sandercoe, his YouTube channel and his intermediate course text.

I’ve recently started to make make use of the similarly named but unrelated and again local Kirklees Guitar School’s video lessons. This free resource is excellent.

I plan to take some lessons with this school in Autumn 2025.
